Hello, my name is Natalie Smith, I have two places of residence. When in Sydney I live in Riverstone, NSW and at other times can be found in East Maitland, NSW with my partner Brad. My fur family consists of 4 horses, Corry, Crispin, Blazer and Blossom. And last but not least my Burmese cat Bailey (who owns the house). Meet the fur family! I have had horses for the majority of my life, where, as a 12yr old I was finally able to convince (or should I say wear down) my non horsey parents into buying me a horse. My first horse was a 3mth old Australian Studbook Pony Colt - Blazer. My interest in massage began after starting dressage with Corry. I found she was tight through the shoulders and a friend suggested "Massage". At this time massage was virtually un-heard of and Catherine Bird became a great wealth of knowledge to me. Thus began my path to greater understanding......... After suffering Chronic Fatigue in early 2001, my interest in Alternative Therapies developed in an endeavour to get myself back to a normal life. I have also studied Spiritual Kinesiology, which is a great tool. During 2002 I was searching for an Equine Massage Course so I could learn more about massage. It was then that I was approached and asked to consider co-ordinating the Equinology Inc courses for NSW. Needless to say I jumped at the chance. I have since met many amazing people, world leaders in their field of equine therapies and the general horse owner enquiring about the courses. I was also a founding member of the Australian Branch of IEBWA (International Equine Body Workers Association). I have also ventured into the world of breeding Trakheners. My first foal Crispin, is an absolute gem with the most playful and wicked personality. I am looking forward to many years of fun together. Unfortunately my second foal was not such a happy occasion and unfortunately passed away during birth. Thankfully we were able to save Corry and she will now go back into work as my dressage star. I am at the moment still undecided as to what my next move will be regarding breeding...... who knows embryo transfer may be my next adventure. Once embarking on the path of Equine Massage, I have found that there is so much to learn, it is virtually a subject where you can never know enough. Henceforth, every year finds me attending courses in the pursuit of knowledge of how I can assist my equine friends.
